WHAT IS THE P.E.P.A. SOS ALERT SCHEME?
The P.E.P.A. SOS Alert Scheme is a FREE service which will be offered to P.E.P.A. members only. Participants in this scheme will be required to carry an SOS ALERT CARD which is the size of a normal credit card at all times in order for this scheme to work effectively.
The aim of the service is in the unfortunate event of an accident which renders you incapable of returning home is to ensure that someone is notified of your predicament and that your animals are attended to.
To qualify you need to complete and return an SOS Application Form, before your SOS Alert Card can be issued to you. For non-members the SOS Application Form will have to be accompanied with a P.E.P.A. Membership Application Form and subscription of 12 Euros per year for one person or 20 Euros for two people.
The information you provide will be treated in the strictest of confidence and will be held on a secure P.E.P.A. database. When your application is accepted you will be issued with a P.E.P.A. SOS Alert Card complete with your own personal security code
The SOS Alert Scheme is a 24hr Emergency Service which is available to all P.E.P.A. members. If you are involved in an emergency which renders you incapable of returning home within a 24hr period you can feel safe in the knowledge, that a prompt telephone call to the emergency number on your SOS card, quoting your security code will activate your account.
Upon activation of the account a member of the SOS Alert Card Team will contact the designated Key Holder[s].It is then the responsibility of the Keyholder/s to ensure that all the necessary action is taken to ensure your pet/s safety and wellbeing until you are able to return home.
IMPORTANT YOU MUST NOMINATE ONE, PREFERABLY TWO RELIABLE KEY HOLDERS/DESIGNATED PERSONS TO ACT ON YOUR BEHALF IN CARING FOR YOUR PETS DURING YOUR ABSENCE.KEYHOLDERS MUST SIGN THE RELEVANT SECTION ON THE SOS APPLICATION FORM TO CONFIRM THAT THEY ACCEPT AND UNDERSTAND HOW THE SOS ALERT CARD SCHEME WORKS.
P.E.P.A. WILL ONLY ACT AS AN INTERMEDIARY BETWEEN THE CARD HOLDER AND THEIR KEY HOLDER SHOULD THE SOS ALERT CARD BE USED.
P.E.P.A. WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY EXPENSES INCURRED RELATING TO THIS EMERGENCY, NEITHER WILL THEY BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ONGOING CARE.
