AUCTION ON BEHALF OF P.E.P.A. HELD BY LAURIE AND KRIS RAPIER OF ALADDIN´S PEDREGUER..

P.E.P.A. would like to say a very big THANK YOU to Kris and Laurie Rapier of Aladdin’s, Poligono les Galgues at Pedreguer for their excellent organization at the auction they held on behalf of P.E.P.A. last Saturday, 26th June.    Despite a disappointing turnout their enthusiasm raised a wonderful €700 for P.E.P.A.   

It was a fun occasion with tapas and wine, donated by Kris and Laurie and others and was marked by the special appearance of a popular radio celebrity, namely Max Factor, from Smile Radio fm. who put himself up for auction raising €90 by offering to do ‘anything’ asked of him!!   Max Factor is on Smile Radio fm. each weekday from 3 p.m. until 6.00.p.m. so do tune in as he is a lot of fun.    P.E.P.A. would also like to thank Smile Radio fm. for donating P.E.P.A. a radio interview which we shall certainly be having in the very near future.  

Another very attractive donation was a colourful shirt donated by the mother of a very well known UK TV personality, who prefers to remain anonymous.     And Carol McKenzie  who tirelessly spent a couple of hours holding up items for auction.   Grateful thanks to them all. 

This is by no means the first time Kris and Laurie have given P.E.P.A. their valued support.  Without the support of people like them it would be difficult for P.E.P.A to care for so many animals.    It is always a delight to visit Aladdin’s with all its wonderful bargains and, of course, to listen to Laurie’s radio show on Smile Radio fm. at midday on the first Wednesday of every month.

	The joint book sale and lunch held on Saturday 15th May at the Moli Canyar restaurant was a great success. P.E.P.A. raised a grand total of 259€, which was made up of 110€ from the book sale plus 149€ collected from raffle ticket sales and the 2€ added to lunch tickets. We do hope that the volunteers from S.P.A.M.A. were equally successful. It was so good to meet and chat with members from S.P.A.M.A. and to hopefully set the precedence for holding joint fundraising functions in the future. A big thank you to Janet Goodwin who organised the event and liaised with S.P.A.M.A. And a big thank you as well to Joy Potter and her volunteers for all their hard work. Joy raises much needed funds by holding book sales and attending rastros. Last, but not least, thank you to all those people who came along to support the event helped to make it a success.

PEPA VALENTINE LUNCH

On the 9th Febuary P.E.P.A. had its Valentine luncheon at the La Cueva restaurant in Oliva, and it was a great success.  A fantastic turn out with great food.

We held our auction and Book salel on the 26 th March. in the lovely gardens of La Falconera Hotel. Marchuquera.
