All 3 dogs were understandably very frightened when they first arrived, so much so that a hiding place had to be constructed for them in a corner of a room. It was sad to see that the dogs would shred newspapers up and collect bits and pieces like sticks in order to make a nest in this place. Their carers assume that this was their only comfort when living with the goat herder and sleeping in old blue water barrels or old cupboards. At first they only ever came out from their “nest” when their carers left the room, but now they are gaining confidence and exploring their new environment.
Patches was particularly nervous, she even pooped herself with fear when first picked up. She has since made great strides and gets very excited when she sees her carers and greets them with a waggy tail - but with a submissive crawl at the same time. She’s also started to play with her foster carers own little dogs. Patches isn’t happy to be picked up yet, but her carers have no doubt that she will come round with a bit more TLC. Despite her fears she is a very gentle loving dog who would love to have a loving home of her own. At this stage her carer feels that Patches would be happier going to a home where there is already a small dog. Ideally, it would be great for her to be rehomed together with Snowy.
Patches was born approx. Jan 2010 and is a very dainty little girl. She has been sterilized treated for parasites and health vaccinated. Like Snowy and Tansy she’s put on weight and been given a clean bill of health by the vet.
